Shannon Bonatakis

Shannon Bonatakis is another artist out of Boulder that I found through Josholland’s site. She uses acrylic on canvas and the main theme in her work is ethereal depictions of mysterious female characters. She also uses childhood movies and fairytales as inspiration, much like Josholland and my other favorite artists, but with a completely unique style… so there seems to be a theme in my artistic taste. :)

Below are three of her most recent pieces she created for the Beyond Eden Art Fair in Los Angeles back in October. My absolute favorite is the first, “Luck is Never Enough” I was completely obsessed with NeverEnding Story when I was younger and if you’re like me and basically everyone else my age and you were too, you can buy the print here.

Shannon participates in a lot of LA shows at Gallery 1988 and C.A.V.E. so keep an eye on the show announcements for her name. If you love her work as much as I do and would like to see more, you can do that at Shannon Bonatakis without having to plan a trip to LA… or maybe it would just make a good excuse.
